Fixed teeth with implants
Implants are the closest thing to a natural tooth we
can offer. With our own laboratory, the planning, the
surgery and the final crown all come from one team.

What are dental implants?
A dental implant is an artificial tooth root, usually titanium, placed into the jawbone. A crown, bridge or denture is fixed on top of it, and the result is hard to tell from a natural tooth in both look and function.
Implants give a stable, long-term result and spare the neighbouring teeth, because nothing has to be filed down to carry a bridge.
Why patients choose implants
●
They look and feel natural when you eat and speak
●
With good care they last for decades, often for life
●
Healthy neighbouring teeth stay untouched
●
The jawbone keeps its shape instead of shrinking back
●
Nothing slips or clicks the way removable dentures can
Our advantage: everything under one roof
What sets this practice apart is the dental laboratory upstairs. Our technicians work directly with our dentists, which means shorter routes, faster adjustments and a level of quality control an outside lab simply cannot offer.
From the first consultation through digital planning to the finished crown on the implant, the work never leaves the building.
Who are implants suitable for?
In principle any adult whose jaw has finished growing. What matters is enough healthy bone, which we check carefully beforehand. Where bone is thin there are options such as grafting, and we will talk those through with you first.

THE PROCESS
Four steps to fixed teeth
From the first consultation to the finished crown, we walk
you through every stage of the treatment.
1
Consultation & planning
A thorough examination, digital
imaging and an unhurried talk about
the options open to you.
2
Placing the implant
A gentle procedure under local
anaesthetic. The implant is set
precisely into the jawbone.
3
Healing phase
Over the following weeks the implant
fuses with the bone. During this time
you wear a temporary replacement
tooth.
4
Crown from our lab
Our technicians make your crown by
hand. Shade and shape are matched
to your own teeth so that it
disappears into your smile.

COMMON QUESTIONS
Questions about implants
Does placing an implant hurt?
The procedure is done under local anaesthetic and is usually painless. Some swelling afterwards is normal and settles within a few days. Most patients tell us it was easier than they had expected.
How long do dental implants last?
With good oral hygiene and regular check-ups an implant can last a lifetime. The crown on top has an average life of fifteen to twenty years before it may need replacing.
Will my insurance cover the cost?
Implants are not normally covered by the NHS. Private dental plans may contribute depending on your policy. We are happy to prepare a detailed written estimate that you can submit to your insurer.
How long does the whole treatment take?
Depending on the case, three to six months from placement to finished crown. Most of that is healing time, during which you wear a temporary replacement. The appointments themselves are short and easy to plan around.
